The British Plastics Federation (BPF) was proud to attend the Circular Plastics Exhibition. It was an event dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge innovations and solutions aimed at reducing plastic waste and promoting circular economy principles across the plastics value chain.

Held in Klagenfurt, Austria the exhibition brought together industry leaders, researchers, raw material suppliers, manufacturers and sustainability advocates from across the UK and Europe. It provided an essential platform for knowledge-sharing, networking and exploring the future of plastics.

During the event the BPF engaged with a wide range of exhibitors and stakeholders as well as listened to key speakers on sustainability and future of the plastics industry. The exhibition offered a dynamic and forward-thinking perspective on how the industry is evolving to meet environmental challenges.

One of the highlights was the launch of the EUMEPS Women in EPS campaign. This powerful initiative aims to recognise and empower women in the Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) industry, highlighting their leadership, innovation and contributions to sustainability. The launch featured a thought-provoking discussion on diversity and inclusion followed by valuable networking. Events like this are instrumental in aligning industry goals with broader environmental commitments and promoting best practices across borders.

As the voice of the UK plastics industry, the BPF remains committed to supporting sustainable development, encouraging innovation and working together with industry partners to drive meaningful change.

“Within the EPS sector there is a need to hear from a range of voices and opinions to brainstorm new innovative projects for fresh ideas and perspectives and drive sustainability efforts. There are opportunities to really make a difference and a great industry to make a positive impact.” Nicki Hunt-Davison, Industrial Issues Executive, British Plastics Federation Angela Fredericks Special Advisor, EPS & Innovation
