Operation Clean Sweep®

Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) is an international initiative from the plastics industry to reduce plastic pellet, flake or powder loss into the environment. In the UK, it is led by the British Plastics Federation (BPF). The aim is to ensure that the plastic pellets, flakes and powders that pass through manufacturing facilities and supply chain in the UK are handled with care to prevent them ending up in our rivers and seas.

By signing up to Operation Clean Sweep®, companies make a commitment to ensure their site and processes are carefully managed to prevent plastic pellet loss so that they will play their part in protecting the aquatic environment. The scheme currently has over 300 members in the UK
